paul chambers spoke to family and friends and joins us in oakland. good afternoon, paul. >> reporter: good afternoon, tori. i spoke to the family off camera. they say they are doing as well as possible. the mom says she's taking it day by day. they say this is not about mourning but it's a celebration of the life of drew jackson. he's the 1-year-old child at the request of the family, they -- people came dressed in white or light colors. now they are actually matching some of them, the blue casket that drew was laid to rest in. it was just over a week ago that drew was shot and killed while he slept in the bed with his father andrew thomas. police say the shooter walked down the side of the house and fired shots through a back window. little drew was are ushed to the hospital where he was -- rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. his father was pronounced dead at the scene. the two were staying at a relative's home. at the service, mayor jean quan was in attendance. oakland are still actively investigating this crime. a $30,000 reward i
